Tripadvisor

As you approach the side of Ladybird Barn you cannot fail to notice the
ancient old Devon walls bursting with ancient ferns, crocosmia and
foxgloves and in their shadow, are clumps of yellow flowered
wild Iris.
As you look further up the hill, you'll see dozens of Devon Longhair
sheep staring at you and welcoming you to your holiday home.

Go through the large double glazed oak doors into the lounge/diner and
you'll find a superb contemporary converted barn, furnished to very high standard
with oak
floors throughout downstairs, and dressed with luxurious heavy curtains.
An array of comfortable sofas, squashy cushions
and a truly wonderful log burning
fire, with a silver flue that juts up and through the ceiling above.
There's a pine
dining table that can comfortably sit six and bookcase bulging with an assortment of local books,
boxes of jigsaws, games, and an assortment of family DVDs with flat
screen TV.

Leading off the Lounge is a modern style kitchen with integrated fitted
kitchen appliances and every modern convenience you could require.
On the ground floor there is also a shower room and wc. To the other side of the Lounge is a full width ground floor bed room,
with a pair of wonderful sturdy bunk beds, and a sofa bed.

Upstairs there are a further 2 bedrooms in the eaves of the barn. (A
double and a twin bedroom).
The bedrooms have skylights which on a clear night you can take
advantage of Exmoor’s designation as Europe’s first “Dark Sky Reserve”
where the stars shine brighter making star gazing very special indeed.
Bed linen, towels and beach towels are provided, as well as tea towels,
bath mats and environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Ladybird Barn is centrally heated out of season with an endless supply
of free logs for the log burner (help yourself to logs) for a cosy night
in, whatever the weather. There is a private patio area and seating, and to the front of the
farmhouse is a large lawn and seating area.
We also have a large acre flat field where great football
matches take place, just ask Lewis or Frazer to show you where.
To the side of the barn is a log store and a small
herb garden. We also have an
organic allotment, where guests are welcome to pick and eat seasonal
vegetables.
We put a scrummy seasonal welcome pack in the barn for your arrival,
normally a home cooked cake, pasties, tea, coffee and sugar, organic
milk, some local Scrumpy Cider and seasonal vegetables pulled that
morning from our vegetable garden.
Eggs are always available, collect your own and just visit the Hen
House.
Why not take advantage and have a supermarket deliver groceries in
advance of your arrival and we will put them away in the kitchen or you.
We also have a number of Farm Shops close by, a village store and
numerous Farmers Markets throughout the week.
Park your car next to Ladybird Barn, Ideal!
Please Note: Due to the
sheep, we do not allow dogs on the farm.
